This car is instantly recognized. Its has a wider body, an extra 32 mm wider, and wider tires. The front air intake grilles and slats are easily noticed by their titanium-color, and the taillight strip has taken on a new seamless appearance. The trims on the lower back panel and the side skirt have been painted black to provide better protection against stone impact.  This latest model also has swept-back ellipsoid headlamps, and the body has been aerodynamically tested and slope design in the back to increase driving dynamics and traction.

The all-wheel-drive unit transfers between five and 40 percent of the torque to the front wheels. The system was last updated in 2009 along with the rest of the car. The system features electronic of the differentials instead of the old clingy multi-plate clutch. This is a modified system that was initially developed for the much more powerful 911 Turbo, this new limited-slip rear differential now comes as standard equipment.

The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet  can be equipped optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), has an optional to use either manual gearshift and an automatic modes, they both enable gear changes to be smooth with no interruption in the flow of power. This allows acceleration to be considerably faster without having to sacrifice the ease of the automatic transmission.

The PDK has seven different gears. Gears 1 through 6 have a sports ratio, and the top speed can be reached in the 6th gear. The 7th gear has a long ration, which helps with fuel efficiency.  The PDK is basically two gear boxes in one and requires two clutches, which is designed as a double wet clutch transmission.

This double clutch provides an alternating, negative connection between the two semi-gearboxes and the engine by means of two separate input shafts; the input shaft 1 is nested inside the hollow input shaft 2. The flow of power from the engine is only transmitted through one semi-gearbox at a time and through only one clutch at a time, while the next gear to be used is preselected in the second semi-gearbox. While the gear is being changed the conventional shift no longer takes place, one clutch simply opens and the other closes at the same time. The changing of gears literally takes place within hundredths of a second.

Clutch one controls the first semi-gearbox, which contains the odd gears which include gears; 1,2,5, and 7) and reverse. The second clutch controls the second, which contains the even gears which include: (2, 4 and 6).  Again, PDK offers very rapid gearshifts with no interruptions in the flow of power, which will allow faster acceleration. This makes driving feel even sportier and more dynamic, with a heightened power to balance ratio.  The newly designed compacted gearbox reduces rotational masses, which gives a more direct engine response. As soon as you unlock the door using the key remote, the seat and exterior mirrors adjust back to their stored position.

The Sports seats are built with firmer upholstery than the standard design. Higher side bolsters on the seat cushion and backrest provide more lateral support. The seat height and forward/backward position is adjusted manually, the backrest can be adjusted electrically.

The adaptive seats with driver memory is an optional sport seat that combines excellent comfort with the highest track performance. Along with all the other adjustment features of the comfort seats, the side cushions on the seat surface and backrest are individually electrically adjustable, for increase comfort on long journeys and perfect lateral support through all the bends on or off the racetrack. The memory function supports both exterior mirrors and all seat positions on the driver's side, apart from the side cushions.

The sports bucket seat is the ultimate sport experience, you choose to get sports eats with a folding backrest, integral   chest airbag and manual forward and backward adjustment. The backrest body is made from glass and carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic and has a very nice carbon-weave finish. The backrest joints are placed very high in the side of the cushions to give good lateral support your pelvic region. The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4S  offer many different steering wheel choices as well. Every steering wheel has ab integrated full-size airbag, and a high-grip rim in sooth-finish leather.

  models that have the optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) come standard with a new, three-spoke steering wheel. There is also a choice for another optional multifunction steering wheel for PDK. Paddles enable the driver to change gears without ever letting go of the wheel. For increased comfort on those cold days, you can also get steering wheel heating, which only comes when seat heating and PDK are also installed. The heating is controlled by a button on the back of the lower steering wheel spoke.


Cruise control is also available. The automatic speed controller for speeds 20-149 mph. It is activated using separate control panel on the steering column. It can even be used while you are driving in first gear.


The circular dials behind the steering wheel provide needed information quickly and easily. The digital displays in the center-left dial contains the main and trip odometers. The central dial, the customizable display of the standard on-board computer is integrated into the rev counter. Your moment to moment road speed is displayed permanently, while average fuel consumption, average road speed, fuel range can be pulled up when you want or need them. The outside temperature, shift pattern of the PDK, and your selected gear is shown on the center-right dial display. Text and symbols are shown clearly by high-resolution dot matrix. Design and legibility are also enhanced by a black light.

The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4S  comes with the standard PCM, the central control unit for audio, navigation and communications. The PCM can be operated via touch screen, with the maximum of five items per page, the screen is clean and clear and very easy to read and understand, if help is needed, it is available and the bottom of the screen.

A single CD/DVD delivers audio and video playback in. A six-disc CD/DVD auto-changer is also available.

The GPS navigation system now has a h
